OCC Mask-erade Day 2
Well, I have worked on this card more than ever before. It's for a very special wedding in August. I had to make it now as the baby comes around July and I'm not sure how I'll cope with my new schedule. :-)
The progress: stencil-making with my silhouette, masking with it, ink-blending, heat-embossing, a little bit of sewing, 3D-mounting, creating a cut file, then using its negative on my card - for this one also having to put back those itty-bitty little details of the letters. PHEW!

Some Sparkles For a Birthday
This card matches its recepients: a playful, bright, brilliant mom and teacher and her brilliant little boy.
(And I love her original American chocolate chip cookie recipe!)
I'm also entering this card into Virginia's View Challenge #9 - All Things Metallic.

Sportmax
My next card is inspired by the current Runway Inspired Challenge. This is the current photo with an oh-so-gorgeous dress.
What you see translated onto my card: the tree flowers on the right, the beautiful navy behind the sentiment, the thread mimicking the model's blond hair and finally, the washi tape mimicking the wooden box next to her. It all makes sense, right? ;-)
I'll soon have something to create more beautiful paper projects and I cannot wait for it to arrive. Yes, it's a gadget thingy and we know I love gadgets. :-)

The Best of August
Finally, I'm back in blogland so that I can share with you the card I made for my hubby's birthday. He's favourite colour is green and I wanted to combine it with something really summery, because I just love August. I think I like the details very much on this one. :-)
The dragonfly was made by the wife of my godfather. I want her to teach me how to do it. I used to have it in several colours and I'm almost out of them. lol The popped up right part of the card was painted with watercolours and oh how I loved this part. :-) I love the embossing too because there was a lucky accident with the 3rd circle and it looks really cool now I think. The sentiment is also painted and I tried to follow the simple advise of Kristina Werner: up bold, down thin. Well, for sure I should practice but for a first it looks pretty good.
And while I'm here why not to enter this card into this challenge: Simon Says Stamp - Summer
Thanks for tuning in, I'll be back soon! :-)

Water-themed and -coloured card
This is my second scheduled post for this week as I leave for the UK for two weeks and I didn't want to leave it here all alone. LOL
I whipped up this card in like 15 minutes (which is veeeery fast for me) because it was a late nameday card for my dad. We spent a week in Croatia with my parents so its theme was obvious and that's also the reason why it was late. :)

I used my brand new watercolour set and a little bit of embossing before I hand stitched its left side. Then I tried my lettering skills and wrote 'Dad' on the right side.
To finish it off I put a textile button with a starfish on it in the top right corner.
I'm also entering this into this week's Paper Smooches Sparks Anything Goes challenge.

Flower Framed
This card was pretty simple to create with a PaperSmooches set. Obviously, I'm entering this into their current Anything Goes challenge. :) I put a Post-it note in the middle and started to stamp with each stamp in each colours. I tried to keep their balance though so I paid attention where I stamped in which colour.
Then I decided to put a leaf as a feather in the middle and heat embossed it on gold.
I wasn't sure about the sentiment for a long time. The card was sitting on my shelf for ages. Then I really needed a birthday card for my aunt and suddenly I knew exactly how I should finish it. I grabbed my red alphabet stickers (from Basic Gray I think), put them on my ruler and to mix it up a little I put on there a capital letter as the second letter and glued them on. To give it its final shine I put some glossy accent on each letter.
I'm also entering this into Simon Says Stamp's Emboss It challange.

A Wedding Card
I was given a wedding invitation and asked to create a congrats card very similar in style. I used PS stamps, gold embossing powder, rob-on letters and some shimmery mists to paint alongside the lines with the colours of the original card. This is what I came up with:

Yes, it's the bird again!
I managed to fit in this tiny tag before I leave for Croatia. The bottom part is from a packaging that used to hold some yummie chocolate with roasted green tea. You read it right! We got it from our Japanese friend who makes them. You can check out its beautiful packaging here (the 1st pic on the right).
And don't forget to check out Virginia's latest challenge that I enter this tag into. It's fabulous!
Gotta go to finish my jobs before I leave. Thank you for looking!

Singing Hippo
For this card I used a piece of scrap from my previous card - I love the way the green paint turned out. :-)
I used some nay HA dye ink with some water to create a background for the hippo, and then white embossed it.
As it will be a thank you card for the girl who is the leader of the church orchestre at our wedding in 2 weeks, I reached for a note chipboard, coloured it with a brand new Promaerker (Sunburnt Pink - love it!) and put the final touch with some Glossy Accent on it.
Have you noticed the background? Yes? It's the cover of a Rolling Stones live record from the 70s and belongs to my future-father-in-law who's rather a classical music person. :-)) Well, you never know!

Double-stenciled
Yay, I got mentioned on Paper Smooches again! :-) Besides this, I hope also my next card proves that I'm on a roll ... maybe a sign for bigger plans? Hehehe. Once we're done with this wedding thingy. ;–) Anyway, the main idea came from last week's CASE Study no. 157 card by Donna Mikasa.
But I've always been in love with pastels and looks like it's gonna be super-trendy this year again, so this might be my year of card trends. LOL Oh, and stencils! I bought a pack of basics one last summer in Maastricht as I wanted to learn this technique...and then I hardly used them. And now they are back in fashion, as well. :-) I used a striped stencil with inks and one with hearts and heat embossing here.
And I shouldn't forget about the tissue paper and thread thingy either. Perhaps I use the word 'thingy' in this post a lot, eh? But I couldn't resist using some enamel dots thingy either to balance things out in the lower right corner.
Thanks for stopping by! :-)

Leafy Birthday
This card was inspired by this one from Debby Hughes and this one from Aimes mainly, but I've seen similar ones all over blogland, just check out Pinterest. :) I did change a few things and I like it a lot. Anyway, it's for the 60th of my future mother-in-law. It's an A5-sized card, I know, a huge one! The background's made from the scraps from our future wedding album.
