ric#72 - Hervé Léger

You gotta love the orange colours of autumn. And this dress at RIC's 72nd challenge shows them off perfectly.

So I thought of doing the same:

By the way, it's a thank you card and it has no sentiment outside because you could see it through the vellum leaf, which for personal reasons hasn't been photographed. :-)

Some Sparkles For a Birthday

This card matches its recepients: a playful, bright, brilliant mom and teacher and her brilliant little boy.
(And I love her original American chocolate chip cookie recipe!)

I'm also entering this card into Virginia's View Challenge #9 - All Things Metallic.

Xmas card 2014 #2

This is from the piece where the reindeer came from in my previous post. :) It's really simple, I just put some stickles on certain bulbs of the Christmas trees to make the background more interesting.

Then again, I'm entering this card into Virginia's View Challenge #9 - All Things Metallic.
And I'm not done yet! :-)

I'm also entering this into ric#71 - In Memory of Oscar de la Renta challenge with this dress.

Radio Silence

It's been a bit quiet here for some time (due to tons of work), but I've been also working on our wedding album. I have 7 pages ready, which is about half of the album, so I'm thinking about showing them here very soon.

October

I'm entering this card into Virginia's View Challenge #8 and the IN(K)SPIRE_me challenge #167.

Because it's "October /And the trees are stripped bare / Of all they wear  / What do I care / October /  And kingdoms rise / And kingdoms fall / But you go on / And on"

CASEing The Fantabolous Debby Hughes

OK, I envy the brain of the above mentioned lady and I so wanted to case one of her masterpieces during the month she's the muse of CASE Study. So this is what I came up with for the currents CASE Study Challenge #208.

It's very obvious that this is not an apple. Although I also have some apple chipboards in my stash, it just didn't fit. So I decided to go with the thought of showing you the fading shades of the Indian summer (=autumn) and went with my current favourite colours. By the way, it's a notebook we got at the European Parliament when we went for a visit 2 years ago but I had to personalize it for my own sake. LOL

Hope you like it. :-)

Csabi's Album

In my previous post I promised to show you the matching album I'd made for our little godson's 1st birthday... well, practically I gave it to his mother but I was sure he'd also appreciate it a few years later. :-)

He is so, sooooo cute! I really didn't need to embellish these little pages any more.

I got the album itself as a gift from Scrapfellow. If I remember correctly, I bought the enamel dots, the brown alphabet and patterned papers from them, too. The little detail stamps are from various Lawn Fawn and PaperSmooches sets. I painted the back page with some Martha Stewart acrylic paint. The blue foam letters are from Müller. :-)

And since it's full of patterned papers, I'm linking this one to Virginia's View Challenge #7, too.

Patterned Paper Scraps

This card is a perfect fit for Virginia's View Challenge #7 - Patterned Papers, isn' it? ;-)

I made this card in like 15 minutes from scraps I was too sorry for to throw away. They remained from the mini album I whipped up for our godson's 1st birthday - more on that soon! It accompanies this card as there are only 3 days between our godson's and her mother's (aka my very best friend) birthday.

I really loved these patterned papers and am somewhat sad to run out of them but happy to use so much of them at the same time. :-)

Sportmax

My next card is inspired by the current Runway Inspired Challenge. This is the current photo with an oh-so-gorgeous dress.

What you see translated onto my card: the tree flowers on the right, the beautiful navy behind the sentiment, the thread mimicking the model's blond hair and finally, the washi tape mimicking the wooden box next to her. It all makes sense, right? ;-)

I'll soon have something to create more beautiful paper projects and I cannot wait for it to arrive. Yes, it's a gadget thingy and we know I love gadgets. :-)

The Best of August

Finally, I'm back in blogland so that I can share with you the card I made for my hubby's birthday. He's favourite colour is green and I wanted to combine it with something really summery, because I just love August. I think I like the details very much on this one. :-)

The dragonfly was made by the wife of my godfather. I want her to teach me how to do it. I used to have it in several colours and I'm almost out of them. lol The popped up right part of the card was painted with watercolours and oh how I loved this part. :-) I love the embossing too because there was a lucky accident with the 3rd circle and it looks really cool now I think. The sentiment is also painted and I tried to follow the simple advise of Kristina Werner: up bold, down thin. Well, for sure I should practice but for a first it looks pretty good.

And while I'm here why not to enter this card into this challenge: Simon Says Stamp - Summer

Thanks for tuning in, I'll be back soon! :-)

Water-themed and -coloured card

This is my second scheduled post for this week as I leave for the UK for two weeks and I didn't want to leave it here all alone. LOL

I whipped up this card in like 15 minutes (which is veeeery fast for me) because it was a late nameday card for my dad. We spent a week in Croatia with my parents so its theme was obvious and that's also the reason why it was late. :)

I used my brand new watercolour set and a little bit of embossing before I hand stitched its left side. Then I tried my lettering skills and wrote 'Dad' on the right side.

To finish it off I put a textile button with a starfish on it in the top right corner.

I'm also entering this into this week's Paper Smooches Sparks Anything Goes challenge.

Flower Framed

This card was pretty simple to create with a PaperSmooches set. Obviously, I'm entering this into their current Anything Goes challenge. :) I put a Post-it note in the middle and started to stamp with each stamp in each colours. I tried to keep their balance though so I paid attention where I stamped in which colour.

Then I decided to put a leaf as a feather in the middle and heat embossed it on gold.

I wasn't sure about the sentiment for a long time. The card was sitting on my shelf for ages. Then I really needed a birthday card for my aunt and suddenly I knew exactly how I should finish it. I grabbed my red alphabet stickers (from Basic Gray I think), put them on my ruler and to mix it up a little I put on there a capital letter as the second letter and glued them on. To give it its final shine I put some glossy accent on each letter.

I'm also entering this into Simon Says Stamp's Emboss It challange.
