Thank You

A quick and easy card for my doc with a photo of my little one, Ágoston, who's already 6 weeks old!

I've ordered this extra-thin (3 mm) gold foil washi tape recently and I think it's such a universal one. I'm still working on a mini album about my son and am planning to start a Project Life album.

The One Before The Last One

This one just needed the right occasion with a sentiment before I'd made the last baby card for my friend. I realized it'd be my dad's nameday next week, so I cut a piece of black cardstock, loaded into my old Dymo (as seen on Tim Holtz's blog) and then painted the letters with a white gel pen (unfortunately, my black cardstock wasn't white cored). The tree was cut with my Silhouette, the background watercoloured and accented with matching enamel dots. I tried to achieve here some sort of ombre effect.

Update: I forgot to link this up to the challenge I wanted to (baby brain...) since creating watercolour background is currently my fave technique - it's quick and easy. So the challenge is: Simon Says Stamp - Use Your Favourite Technique / Product

Can You Spot It?

It's not easy even to sit down in the last days before my due date, so this one might be my last card for a little while. However, one of my friends' had her baby girl very recently, which means I have to send her a cute card. And PaperSmooches current Picture Perfect Challenge gave a great opportunity for this.

Can you spot the little elephant on yellow background below on the shelf? :-) Now that's where my elephants came from! Hopefully, you can spot also the other elements of the photo on my card, like the zigzag pattern, the yellow, aqua and white colours etc.

Now thanks for "inspecting" (hehe) my card and have a nice week!

OCC Mask-erade Day 3

Day 3 was all about fluid masking. As I haven't got the slightest idea what it is called in Hungary :)) or where to buy it and it's around 30 C these days here (not the best temperature for a preggo lady but I like that it's nice and sunny at last) I decided to replace it by Glossy Accent. And it worked! OK, you cannot peel it off but I think it's still a nice opportunity. I followed Debby's wood pattern in this case.

OCC Mask-erade Day 2

Well, I have worked on this card more than ever before. It's for a very special wedding in August. I had to make it now as the baby comes around July and I'm not sure how I'll cope with my new schedule. :-)

The progress: stencil-making with my silhouette, masking with it, ink-blending, heat-embossing, a little bit of sewing, 3D-mounting, creating a cut file, then using its negative on my card - for this one also having to put back those itty-bitty little details of the letters. PHEW!

OCC Mask-erade Day 1

Thanks to Debby's and Laura's careful instructions about ink-blending I FINALLY managed to get a nice and smooth result (look at that perfect circle!). Even if I have only large post-it notes for masking. The secret of the butterfly: at the very last bead, it didn't fully stick onto my cardstock and then I managed to tear it up. :-O Then I had to apply a butterfly band-aid to heal it. :-) I like the overall look of the card I'll give ink-blending another try more confidently next time.

IN[K}SPIRE_me #199

I needed a quick and simple card for my brother's birthday and the newest sketch from the IN[K}SPIRE_me Challenge #199 provided a great opportunity for that. I wasn't sure about the three little hearts at first, but in the end I didn't think it made it girly or anything, so I'm glad I stamped them there. :-) Oh and I'm still in love with the cork stars from Scrapfellow and these Studio Calico - Sundrifter patterned papers.

RIC #84

I rarely make cards without a white card base. But it had to happen in this case. :-) It's pretty simple too, I hope you can see the glossy on the triangles and the shinyness of the gold balloons. I coloured in the triangles with HA - Raspberry Jam and TH - Picked Raspberry inks after squishing them onto an acrylic block.

This was the inpsirational photo:

And my card:

Mother's Day Card 3

Last but not least, my 3rd MD card for this year. I attempted it using basic masking tricks - and even this had a wow effect on my relatives. So I cannot wait to attend OCC's next class called Mask-erade. I won a free spot there from the fantabolous Debby Hughes - thanks again, Debby!

Mother's Day Card 2

Yes, I'm a bit behind with posting my mother's day cards, but going on maternity leave doesn't mean you have all the time of the world for yourself. :-)) I have one more to post and then I'm back to regular birthday cards, currently working on a sea-themed one.

HB Card to Linda

It's a pretty simple card as it has to go through the mail to Switzerland. Just some watercolouring, a new Scrapfellow stamp and a sentiment cut with my Silhouette. Have a great weekend!

Hand-made Cover for Our Silhouette Cameo

Yes, it was difficult to plan out for a beginner like me, being only the 3rd project with my sewing machine, and yes, I needed a lot of help from my hubby for measuring, mainly because of the curves of the machine - but in the end it was all worth it!

Easter Treats for Kids and My Egg Decoration This Year

The cut file of the Easter bunny box can be found for free at svgcuts.com. I filled them with mini chocolate eggs and a bigger Nesquik one. :-)  I found the colorful hemp cords at my local craft store and they are produced by a Hungarian shop called kenderbolt.hu.  So glad I found them. Happy Easter everyone!
