A Giraffe, Some Polka Dots And An Owl

Well, this time not on one card but I'd be fun to try making a scene of these all tree. :) I'll do 3 posts in total, so stay tuned!

Have you heard about it?

Polly's turned 12!

I made this card for my little cousin and this ends the circle (I also made her a DIY notepad and a gift box for it, see my previous posts). This was the first time I used my new PS sets, I just love them, they're of great quality!

Another Birthday Card - With My New Heat Gun!

So I'm back to birthday cards. And since I got a super-duper Dovecraft heat gun from my boyfriend for Christmas (<3) I felt the urge to try it asap. :)

The clear embossed pattern was made with a long forgotten wood mounted stamp. I bought a small box with similar patterns at a local store in the very beginning and I always forgot how great they were. However, I still have to get used to the timing of the heat gun in order to not overheating the images. :) Especially, if I work with two different embossing powders.

I stamped the same image onto the butterfly, just upside down. And since it was cracked a little bit on its body and I wanted to use a button somewhere, I thought it would look cool to put it there and be a great use of at the same time. The beige strip was also made with my brand new EK Success border punch that I got from my now-not-so-little brother for Xmas. Love it!

For the bottom part I was searching for the right image for quite a long time. I knew I wanted it to be a flower but at first I thought I didn't have the right one in my little stash. But since I got a cool storage box from my BF for my stamps I was able to slip through them again and  found this bold and simple flower. At the very end I felt it needed a rounded corner because of all the curved shapes. So I chomped it!

I'm planning to give this card to my BF's mom in February. I hope she'll like it. :)

Supplies: Neenah Deset Storm card stock, red card stock (local paper store), set of mini wood mounted stamps (from Müller), clear and white embossing powder, EK Succes border punch, Echo Park - Sweet Day paper set, Memento brown ink, Basic Grey buttons, Uniball white gel pen, Lawn Fawn abc set, We R Memory Keepers stamp set (flower), Glue Dots

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Calendar - January and February

These are the first 2 months that I created from Virginia's SRM stickers (plus a piece of the cardstock she secured the envelope with - quite unnoticable ;-).

Nearly everything on them is new in my stash. I got the washi tape with birds and the EK Success border punch from my little bro for Xmas - he's so cool! The lamp on the February card is also from my new HA - Konnichiwa set and I haven't used it yet. I like it so much that it has flowers on it. I tried to make these months as happy as possible because for me they are the longest and greyest months of the year but I still like them. :)

I'd like to enter them into following challenges - I hope they count though they're not cards :)
