Experimenting

...with the help of a new challenge on the horizon, called Cure For The Monday Blues.
This was the original inspirational photo, see that green pompom thingy in the top right corner?

I tried using Gesso and then some acrylic paint with the help of a mini spritzer and a heat gun.

I also put some Stickles on my butterfly and made fake stitches with a gold pen around the sentiment. Oh and have I told you I'm still in love with pastels? ;-)

It surely needed a bow so I'm also entering it into this week's Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Anything Goes with Twine or String.

Right, off to a jazz gig with my fiancé with the tickets I got from him for Xmas. :-)

Thanks for stopping by!

Double-stenciled

Yay, I got mentioned on Paper Smooches again! :-) Besides this, I hope also my next card proves that I'm on a roll ... maybe a sign for bigger plans? Hehehe. Once we're done with this wedding thingy. ;–) Anyway, the main idea came from last week's CASE Study no. 157 card by Donna Mikasa.

But I've always been in love with pastels and looks like it's gonna be super-trendy this year again, so this might be my year of card trends. LOL Oh, and stencils! I bought a pack of basics one last summer in Maastricht as I wanted to learn this technique...and then I hardly used them. And now they are back in fashion, as well. :-) I used a striped stencil with inks and one with hearts and heat embossing here.

And I shouldn't forget about the tissue paper and thread thingy either. Perhaps I use the word 'thingy' in this post a lot, eh? But I couldn't resist using some enamel dots thingy either to balance things out in the lower right corner.

Thanks for stopping by! :-)

A Gorgeous Dress

This dress is the most beautiful one I've seen in a while. It is gorgeous! I would so love to wear it (without the fur of course). So I instantly wanted to make a card based on this inspirational photo of RIC's 52 challenge. And this is what it turned out to be:

If you look closely there are smaller yellow dots in the bacground of this cool springy patterned paper (one of my favourites) but I also wanted to highlight the thing that caught my eyes for the first time I looked at this dress: the feather-like splatters. Sooo I fuzzy cut a feather from a sheet of gold paper.

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Leafy Birthday

This card was inspired by this one from Debby Hughes and this one from Aimes mainly,  but I've seen similar ones all over blogland, just check out Pinterest. :) I did change a few things and I like it a lot. Anyway, it's for the 60th of my future mother-in-law. It's an A5-sized card, I know, a huge one! The background's made from the scraps from our future wedding album.

Challenges:
Paper Smooches Sparks - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp - Emboss It

Thanks for looking!

I've finished my 2nd very simple mini album made from our summer memories, just like the one from last year. As I'm trying to prepare for our wedding album, I've also used it as a test opportunity for more exciting techniques that I haven't tried. Although the very first page is still not finished (waiting for an additional photo with our travelling mates), I'm showing you some of the pages.

Hurray

I've just won this calendar kit from Pippi. It's full of goodies as I imagine that I will looooove. Thanks Pippi, thanks 2014! Now back to our wedding preps...

PS: I have finished our summer holiday album and will begin to prepare a full-sized wedding album that I'll do with the help of the first online scrapbooking course I've ever attented. I should also create something super-special for D's mom till February. Busy bee days!
