Kick Start Homework – Day 7-8

The idea of this homework was to find yourself a challenge, like a time challenge, a colour challenge, a limited supply challenge or an online challenge. Well, this was a 2 in 1 challenge for me. I love this new stamp but at first I had no idea how to go on with it. Then I checked what the current challenge on CAS-Friday is and it turned out be an autumn-themed one. As I don't have any autumn-coloured cardstock I remembered what Kristina Werner in of her videos the other day did: she used her Copics to create the borders she needed. So I did the same. Well, as I said my Copic Ciao markers are brand-new so I'm still exploring their use. I also remembered what Joy Taylor and Debby Hughes sometimes does and I coloured some rhinestones with my markers to match the borders. I'm not sure about this card yet, but I think I like it. I'm gonna write a sentiment with a white gel pen under the flowers as soon as I know who will get it. :)

Kick Start Homework – Day 5-6

Well, I'm always smart shopping in online stores as a lot of stuff is too expensive or unreachable for me from here - so with that Homework Day 5-6 is done by me. I guess I'll just link up here a new card of mine in the evening. lol But I'll be back with Day 7-8's soon enough too. I love challenges! Now I'm off finding a cool one for this homework.

Update:
So here's the card for Day 5-6 and it represents how I shop smartly. The Magical Background stamp was love at first sight - I knew I wanted it on one of my Xmas cards and that it so versatile, I'm sure I'll use it a lot. It is embossed as a frame on the card but we had a lot of trouble to take a photo of it.

By the way, sorry for my colouring this was the first time ever I used my new Copic Ciao markers. I chose only the basic colours of Ciao because Copics are rather expensive for me. This card is flat because this is the prototype of those Christmas cards that I'll send via mail.

Kick Start Homework – Day 3-4

This is my second homework for the Kick Start class. I have to be quick now, because I'm posting this from work and in the evening we're going to an outdoor concert where I'll freeze to death. lol So the 2nd lesson gave me the idea basically, to turn to my old scraps or elements that I put away for better days. :) I stamped and water-coloured this platypus some months ago when my Lawn Fawn Down Under set arrived including this funny creature. After doing it I didn't have any clue how to finish it so I put it away. But I was sure I wanted use it some day! Then, also because of the class, I started to digging through my little stash for elements I haven't used or have long forgotten about. And found these wooden clips I wanted to use so much! I love how this simple birthday card turned out to be. It is for my best friend's birthday and says 'In a couple of years...' and goes on inside like 'you'll look like this creature!' Lol I'm pretty sure she'll love it and can't wait to see her face when she gets it.

Unfortunately, I only have a craft corner and a very little stash so I cannot post an organizational pic here about my craft room/shelves/cupboards (yet) but I'm loving all the ideas for future reference at the class.

Kick Start Homework / Day 1-2

This is my first homework for the new online card class called Kick Start and also the base card for one of the cards I will mass produce. First I saw these Christmas brads from Artemio at my local store. I did not know what to do with them at the time but this was the last package so I bought them because I wanted to use them definitely. Then I saw the challenge at SSS and it all clicked together: I love my hexagon stamp from PaperSmooches and it would be fun to put some brads on it. I also bought some Christmas washi tapes and ribbons with the brads so I can change and vary their colours for each card I will send to our families.

On the first lesson I learned a great idea from Kristina. From now on I will always jot down my ideas about elements that comes to my mind because I just realized I keep forgetting about a lot of them. It would have been a shame to forget about this one for example. I created a folder for color block inspirations and took out a notebook for element ideas that I am now expanding with a supply list. No matter how small mine yet is. :)

With that being said I am also entering this card into the SSS challenge We're so TRENDY.

PS: Till now I thought making Xmas cards in September was ridiculous. Then I counted how many I would have to make. TONS! So it is not a bad idea at all...

Put A Stamp On It 2

This is my second card for the SSS Put A Stamp On It challenge. :) I've been away too long from my craft desk, now I'm creating tons of cards! lol I just wish my next order arrived...
Anyway, this is my current fave card, I hope you like it too!

Put A Stamp On It

I did the long-long blog hop. And now I'd like to enter this card into the SSS Put a Stamp On It challenge.
I made it for my boyfriend's birthday. The koala and the eucaliptus tree have a very special meaning to us. ;-) I ordered this Lawn Fawn set just for this! lol He loved it and I hope you like it too!

Anything Goes 2

The other card for the SSS Anything Goes challenge is an experiment of the new trend: coloring with watercolors on white embossing. Well, it was quite tricky for me and I wouldn't say this is my best looking card yet. But since 'anything goes' I'd still show it here.

Anything Goes

I'd like to enter this card into the SSS Anything Goes challenge. This and the following card are both my first attempts in trying different techniques. The flip card goes to my D's grandma who turns 86 in 2 weeks. It isn't quite finished yet though because I'm planning to add a circle shaped photo of the two of us onto the inner side of the circle. Oh, and I made this flip card without any die cutting machine I used only my ruler and my brand new circle cutter that D brought me from Holland in August. :)

Slowly but surely

Jelentem, már 3-4 új képeslapom is van azóta, csak a postoláshoz nem jutottam még el. De a héten fényképezek. Remélem, most már az új csomagom is megjön, akkor jöhet a karácsonyi képeslapok tervezése. :-)

I've created 3-4 cards last week, I just haven't had the time to post them. Hopefully, my next package arrives this week and then I can begin to think about Xmas cards mass production. :-)
